Is it worth applying if we're not in catchment?

You may have heard, anecdotally, that securing a place at our school if you are not in our catchment is very unlikely and that it is therefore not worth considering putting us as a first choice for your child on your application.  For many years this was true as we were oversubscribed just from within our catchment area. However, in recent years, due to a fall in the birth rate and reduced housing mobility, children beyond our catchment have been successful in obtaining a place at our school. We would therefore invite you to consider our popular and well respected school for your child. School visits for prospective parents/carers of children due to start school in September 2024 will be held in the autumn of 2023 and you would be most welcome to visit.

For more information about our school please explore our prospective parents and  curriculum pages.

How do I apply for a place at West Bridgford Infant School?

We are a Local Authority school and therefore follow Nottinghamshire County Council admissions procedures. All admissions are dealt with by the Local Authority Admissions Team. We also participate in the Nottinghamshire County Council Co-ordinated Scheme for In-Year Admissions.

Our school office, although very happy to offer general information about our school or the admissions process, are not involved in the application process. We are therefore not able to make offers of places at our school or to influence how places are allocated.

Please contact the admissions department on 03005008080 to register your child to receive an application pack for a school place.  This will be sent out in the Autumn term of the year before your child is due to start school.
